Life support systems for a post-industrial age.
The paradox of our age
How we can protect our planet and control climate change and at the same time make technological advances lessening the industrial burdon on the world?
Techno-organics
We want to evolve a symbiotic relationship between technology and nature. This could be demonstrated in the various strands that form the experience and the architecture of Sherwood Forest: Living Legend. We would introduce areas or micro climates that work independently but inform the community of the structure as a whole.
We have seen with a majority of lottery funded projects that great buildings are created but often at the expense of the purpose of the proposal. We are keen to address the concepts of visitor experience and of a community involvement and interaction.
The design of the proposal will be influenced by our conception of living buildings and communal needs, a life support system. This could be the embodiment of an emerging new techno-organic architecture using the materiality of projections & membranes, hybrid-materials, sensors and wireless technology merging with sustainable technology.
