Staffordshire Listed Barn Conversion
Location: Staffordshire
Gross Area : 100 to 249 square metres [sqm]
This project was the conversion of Church View Barn. A listed building with a 18th century timber frame and masonry construction. It is located in a semi-rural area - at the edge of the Abbots Bromley village, Staffordshire.

Originally an agricultural barn, it features a projecting central gable dating from the 18th century. The proposal took into consideration the buildings agricultural history. Taking care to utilise all existing openings, as they were and are.

The original listing description gives a detailed analysis of the barn shape and form. We have adhered to this almost entirely; retaining the original structure. The proposal is sympathetic in design. All work was undertaken to match the existing material, proportion and scale.
Uttoxter Farm House

Kent Grade II Listed Building
Location: Kent
Gross Area: 300 to 400 square metres [sqm]
The Clients wished to restore and convert this 15th Century Grade II listed building. Sadly the site was uninhabited and semi-derelict. In order to give it a viable future, the building was conserved, repaired and used as part of two dwelling houses.

All repair work was carried out in an appropriate and sympathetic manner to match the existing style. We were able to design a large glazed area to the rear court yard and the interior was done in a contemporary style. This revealed the existing timber frame of the building.

The proposal has taken into consideration the buildings varied retail and agricultural history. Care was taken to utilise all existing openings as they were. As noted, the building is of a timber frame construction and features a variety of materials used for cladding. The majority of walls are brick fill or Ship-lap weatherboarding.
